Samsung is set to reveal several new devices at its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event in early July, and among them is the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Anticipated to bring only minor upgrades, details about the device’s battery and connectivity have emerged through recent leaks.

FCC Certification Sheds Light on Galaxy Z Flip 6 Specifications

A Samsung device with the model number SM-F741B, identified as the global variant of the Galaxy Z Flip 6, has recently received FCC certification, as reported by MySmartPrice. This certification has disclosed important information about the phone’s battery, charging capabilities, and connectivity features.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is equipped with two batteries: one with a capacity of 1,097mAh (model EB-BF741ABY) and another with 2,790mAh (model EB-BF742ABY), both produced by ATL. The combined rated battery capacity is 3,887mAh, although the marketed capacity will likely be promoted as 4,000mAh.

In terms of connectivity, the FCC certification reveals that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 supports GPS, 5G (including mmWave and sub-6GHz bands), Wi-Fi b/g/n/a/ac/ax (Wi-Fi 6), Bluetooth, and NFC. However, it will not support Wi-Fi 7, as previously reported. Charging tests were conducted using the EP-TA800 charger, a 25W USB PD charger with PPS support.

Expected Features and Hardware

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is expected to retain the same design as its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 5. For those interested in the design, a video of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is available below.

Key specifications of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 are anticipated to include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, options for 8GB or 12GB of RAM, and storage capacities of 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB. The device will run on Android 14 with One UI 6.1.1 and will receive seven years of Android OS and security updates.

The device will likely feature the same screen sizes as the Galaxy Z Flip 5, with a 3.4-inch OLED cover display and a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED foldable main screen. It remains uncertain if the cover screen will support a high refresh rate. Other expected features include an IPX8 water resistance rating, stereo speakers, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader.

Camera Upgrades and Other Features

Rumors suggest that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will see an upgrade in its primary rear camera, featuring a 50MP sensor compared to the 12MP sensor in the Galaxy Z Flip 5. The 10MP front-facing camera and the 12MP ultra-wide camera are expected to remain unchanged.
