Samsung’s Galaxy Watch X: The Pinnacle of Upcoming Wearables

Samsung’s upcoming wearable series might see the introduction of the Galaxy Watch X, a top-tier smartwatch, according to recent reports. The tech giant is expected to unveil the successors to the Galaxy Watch 6 lineup at its Galaxy Unpacked event in July, alongside new foldable smartphones. Additionally, the Galaxy Ring, teased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2024) in February, is also anticipated to debut at this event.

Galaxy Watch X: The New Premium Standard

Reports suggest that Samsung may introduce a new premium smartwatch tier. Initially speculated to be called the “Ultra” in line with Apple’s naming convention, a report from Tech Manics (in Greek) indicates it may be branded as the Galaxy Watch X.

The Galaxy Watch X is expected to be a more advanced version of the Galaxy Watch 7, designed for demanding use cases. Similar to Apple’s high-end Apple Watch Ultra 2, the Galaxy Watch X is rumored to offer water resistance up to 100 meters, double that of Samsung’s current flagship models.

Improvements in battery life are also anticipated for the Galaxy Watch X. While the Galaxy Watch 6 offers up to 40 hours of use on a single charge with the always-on display (AOD) turned off, the Galaxy Watch X is rumored to extend this to an impressive 100 hours.

Though pricing details remain undisclosed, it’s speculated that the Galaxy Watch X will be significantly more expensive than Samsung’s current smartwatch offerings, positioning it to compete directly with the Apple Watch Ultra 2 in both specifications and price.

The redesigned smartwatch will reportedly retain the signature rotating bezels and feature a 1.5-inch circular display. The dimensions of the new premium model are expected to be 47 x 47.4 x 16.4mm.

This series of updates promises significant advancements in Samsung’s smartwatch lineup, offering users enhanced features, improved durability, and longer battery life.
