Samsung has rolled out a new security update for the Galaxy S22 May 2024 Update in the USA. This update closely follows the release of the One UI 6.1 update for Samsung’s flagship smartphones from 2022.

The latest software update for the Galaxy S22 is now available in the US, specifically for factory-unlocked models. The update, which carries firmware version S90xU1UES5EXE2, has a modest download size and includes the May 2024 security patch. This patch addresses 45 security vulnerabilities but does not introduce new features.
If you own a factory-unlocked Galaxy S22 series device in the USA, you can check for the update by going to Settings » Software update » Download and install.
For those who prefer manual updates, you can download the firmware from our database and use the Odin tool on a Windows computer to flash the update.
Galaxy S22 Software Update Timeline
Samsung launched the Galaxy S22 series in early 2022 with Android 12. The devices received the Android 13 update in late 2022 and the Android 14 update in late 2023. They are anticipated to receive the Android 15 update in late 2024.
