Android 15 (One UI 7) Update: Is Your Samsung Galaxy Phone on the List?

The tech world was abuzz on February 17 when Google dropped the first developer preview of Android 15, sparking excitement and curiosity among Samsung Galaxy users. Naturally, everyone is asking the same question: will their Galaxy smartphone or tablet receive the Android 15 update?

If you’re hoping to get Android 15 on your Galaxy device, you’ll need to be patient. Google is expected to wrap up work on Android 15 by July, and then it’s Samsung’s turn to incorporate its unique One UI skin, with the next version being One UI 7. Given Samsung’s timeline, you can expect Android 15 and One UI 7 to be ready for Galaxy devices a few months after Google’s official release.

When Can You Expect an Official List?

Samsung hasn’t released an official list of devices that will get the Android 15 update just yet, but that doesn’t mean we have to wait in the dark. Based on previous Android updates, we can make an educated guess about which phones will be supported. As always, Samsung tends to prioritize its flagship models first, followed by mid-range devices.

While the official list will likely be announced later this year, perhaps around August or September, we’ve gone ahead and made an unofficial list of Galaxy devices that are likely to receive Android 15 based on Samsung’s update history.

How Did We Compile This List?

There’s a method to this prediction. First, any Samsung Galaxy device that launched with Android 13 will almost certainly be eligible for Android 15, as Samsung generally provides at least two major OS upgrades for most of its devices. For flagship phones, Samsung promises up to four years of OS upgrades, which means devices released with Android 11 or newer will likely be upgraded to Android 15. Plus, any Galaxy device launching in 2024 will automatically come with Android 15 or will be eligible for the update soon after.
