Samsung’s One UI 7.0 is set to bring notable changes to the company’s mobile ecosystem, but not all updates will be celebrated by its users. Among the shifts in focus, Samsung has decided to discontinue the Samsung DeX app for Windows, signaling the end of an era for this functionality.
For years, the Samsung DeX app for Windows allowed users to mirror their mobile device’s screen directly onto a PC, enabling seamless drag-and-drop file transfers and smoother multitasking. This app served as a bridge between mobile devices and PCs, making it easier for users to manage files and access their phone’s features from a larger screen.
Standalone DeX Remains Intact

Why the Change?
The change was confirmed on Samsung UK’s website, where a note at the bottom of the DeX page revealed that “DeX for PC on Windows OS will end support from One UI 7 version.” Instead of DeX, Samsung recommends users rely on Microsoft’s Link to Windows feature, which offers many of the same benefits, such as file sharing and screen mirroring.
