Samsung appears to be gearing up for the release of a Fan Edition (FE) Samsung Galaxy S24 Fe variant of its Galaxy S24. The Galaxy S24 series, unveiled earlier this year, is set to expand with the Galaxy S24 FE, a budget-friendly version of Samsung’s flagship devices. Recent sightings online have hinted at its imminent release, revealing key details such as the device’s name and model numbers.
Samsung Galaxy S24 FE:
According to a report from Android Headlines, the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE has been listed online, providing insights into its manufacturer, market name, brand, and model numbers. The Galaxy S24 FE is expected to carry model numbers SM-S721B, SM-S721U, SM-S721W, and SM-S721N, indicating its availability in various regions including the Americas, Korea, and Canada, as well as a global release.
While the listing did not divulge specifics regarding the Galaxy S24 FE’s features or launch date, Samsung has yet to make an official announcement. Nonetheless, industry speculation suggests that the device could be launched either later this year or in early 2025.
A recent report indicated that Samsung is working on a new smartphone under the codename R12, which aligns with the codenaming pattern of previous Fan Edition models — the Galaxy S23 FE was codenamed R11. This suggests that R12 could indeed be the forthcoming Galaxy S24 FE.
Moreover, the anticipated release date for the Galaxy S24 FE seems to have been pushed back. Initially expected to launch this summer, the device is now likely to debut by the end of 2024 or in early 2025, reflecting its current development stage.
Earlier this month, rumors circulated that the Galaxy S24 FE might arrive sooner than previous Fan Edition models. While the Galaxy S23 FE was released in October of last year, its successor was speculated to be hitting the market in the summer of 2024.
Although detailed specifications of the new smartphone remain under wraps, leaks have suggested that the Galaxy S24 FE will sport a 6.1-inch AMOLED display. It is expected to be powered by either the Exynos 2400 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, depending on the region.
Additionally, Samsung is reportedly working on a Fan Edition of the Galaxy Watch. This more affordable version of the Galaxy Watch is currently in development and may be launched under a different name, potentially as an updated version of the Galaxy Watch 4.
