Samsung has officially announced that its Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Smartphones in India can be updated to Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system, the Galaxy Note users get lucky with this massive update. An OTA update notification has received by users regarding this, though many users have still not got this update. Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich features Face Unlock, Android Beam and an improved UI, this particular upgrade will be accompanied by special apps which will let you take advantage of the S-Pen to its maximum potential. Before proceeding, first be sure that you have installed all updates available via OTA on your device. Now, hit the menu key and navigate to Settings -> About phone -> Software update -> Update. Make sure you are connected to a Wi-Fi network for the update. You may see a message indicating an “update available” or a “No update available” message. Download Kies 2.3.1 for Windows (87 MB) [This is 2.3.1.12044 version of Samsung KIES. ]
After installing KIES to your PC, connect your phone to it and launch KIES. Your phone will be detected automatically and drivers would be installed too. You will see the following message that indicates that a new firmware version is available for your Samsung GT-N7000. Here click on Update to proceed.
Now, click next to proceed further a seen in the provided image below.
Next, you will see the Caution screen indicating you to backup all your data as the update process will result in losing all of your valuable data.
When you hit Start upgrade in the above displayed image, your upgrade process starts and it takes around 30 mins. To 1 hr. for completion of the process. Do not disconnect your phone from the PC during the process. Now you will see a window displaying “Firmware upgrade complete”.
Now, you can check that you are on Android 4.0.3 (ICS) and Baseband version N7000DLP4, previously which was N7000DDLC1.
