Tutorial to Root and Install ClockworkMod Recovery on Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 P5113 : SamsungMobileClub

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 P5113 users can now Root and Install ClockworkMod recovery on their device. This latest Tablet by Samsung Electronics runs on Android ICS 4.0, it also a unique featured and smartest Android Tab in the Android world. It has Multi-Tasking features along with IR Blaster; the Tab has smart remote and is powerful easy Tab to use. After Rooting and Installing CWM on it, you can then install a host of custom ROM firmwares as well as the applications which need the Root access.

Pre-Requisites:

The below mentioned process are only for the users who own Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 P5113.
Charge your device so that at least 70% is there with it, to assure that the process does not get interrupted in the middle.
Disable all security programs like Firewall and Antivirus from your computer and uninstall the same from your device, as these security suites generally tend to interrupt the process.
Enable USB debugging in your Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 P5113 from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. The option of USB Debugging should be ticked.
Download CWM Recovery Image, Rooting Package and Odin from here to your computer and extract them too. Place the “cwm-root-gtab2.zip” file to the root directory of your device’s SD card.

Procedure to Root & Install CWM Recovery in Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 P5113:

Open Odin and reboot your phone so as to enter into Download Mode. Download Mode in Galaxy Tab 2 P5113 can be entered by pressing the Volume Down rocker Key + Power button and then when you see the Yellow triangle, press the Volume Down rocker key.
Connect your Galaxy Tab 2 P5113 to the computer with help of the original USB cable and then you will see that the ID: COM section has turned Yellow.
Now, click on the “PDA” button to select the ‘recovery.tar.md5” from the extracted files. Then, click on “Start” to begin the process of rooting.
After the installation process completes, the phone will reboot automatically and when you see the Home Screen or language preference setting option on your screen, disconnect your phone.
Now, once again reboot your phone this time to enter into Recovery Mode. The Recovery Mode can be entered by pressing the Volume down rocker key + power button at the same time.
In recovery mode, select “install zip from sdcard” and then select “choose zip from sdcard” followed by selecting the “cwm-root-gtab2.zip” which have placed in the SD card of your device and then confirm by selecting “Yes” with the help of Volume rocker keys and Power button. After a while the procedure will complete.
