This is the worst designed phone seen. This company Samsung is supposed to be competing with Apple. That would be the greatest joke. This handset should not have been released until it was fully tested. Here the “great features” advertised.
1>9 regional languages: This is only for the menu. You cannot send SMS in Indian languages. They should have highlighted this fact through the words “Menu only”.
Tamil language menus are messed up. En play is the menu for My Files. Menu entries appear to be it has been made by local company? 2 wrong items in the Tamil menus are a big insult.
2>16GB MicroSD card
The main feature is that MicroSD Speed 2 card hangs. The hangs is so severe that the phone will not take incoming calls for a full 5-6 minutes. The calling party would hear that the called party did not pick up the phone. Once the phone wakes up from hang, the phone start ringing (even if the call has ended long time back).
The design team who made this phone should be shown the door immediately – how can they release this phone to the market when the functionality does not work????
3>Music playing.
OK Centre button is the hanging button fine. When you go to directory mode and play music files, why cant the next song be played – why do you have to keep hitting the next button.
4>Hanging centre button cannot be programmed away.
Dont travel in a crowded bus with this phone when you have a 16GB Speed 2 microSD card. If you press it by mistake instead of the green dial button – you have to wait for 5-6 minutes before you can send or receive calls.
Or you have to remove that MicroSD card if you want the phone to be fast. Rs 5300-6300 for such a phone is equivalent to throwing the money in a drain.
If you can do some circus of removing the battery an putting it back, every time the phone hangs (centre button), then take the phone just for the looks, or else avoid it.
Be very careful with Samsung products. They were good at one time, but some of their good features – Indian language T9, automatic playing of next song in directory mode – to name a few are getting removed in recent models. G-Five, Micromax, HTC etc. are catching up with features related to our country and probably cheaper.
