Projector specs are nHD (640 x 360) resolution, 15 Lumen brightness and the 12.5mm thickness helps Samsung claim the title of “world’s thinnest projector phone. The Beam centers around a 1GHz ST Ericsson dual-core chip, best at running Android Gingerbread and that’s exactly what Samsung has offered in the handset, an Android 2.3 Gingerbread version with 768 MB RAM. It can Captures images at 5MP which has the capability of recording 720p HD video and so does the front facing 1.3-mega pixel snapper for video chatting. Display size, 4.0 inches having Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors of 480 x 800 pixels. Having 124 x 64.2 x 12.5 mm thick in size, we are really got amaze while having projector it is so thicker and so light in weight.
The dedicated power button for the projector on the top right of the phone, just above the normal phone switch. Company has managed to pull off is the projector at the top of the handset.
The LED backlit projector is although not an equivalent to a professional mainstream projector but it gives quite a sharp and bright projection to pictures and videos on a small scale and the best thing about it is that it does not consume a lot of the juice from the battery. You can tap the screen and have the output projected onto a nearby surface. Apparently it looks pretty good up to about 50-inches. Having the projector on will completely drain the Beam’s battery in just 3 hours.
There are no details yet as to when the Galaxy Beam will release.
