First lets check this phone specs and features.
Samsung Captivate Glide has Android OS, v2.3 (Gingerbread) with Nvidia Tegra 2 AP20H 1 GHz Dual-core Cortex-A9 processo. It also has graphics of ULP GeForce Slider, phone weighing 147g. It′s dimensions are 124MM x 64MM x 13MM . Long battery talk-time of the phone is Up to 8 hours. The Phone has a Display of 4.0 inches, Super AMOLED Plus Capacitive Touchscreen, 16M Colors. This model comes with Camera of , Rear Camera : 8.0 MP Camera (3264×2448 Pixels) with Auto Focus and LED Flash, Front Camera : 1.3 MP Camera (1280×1024 Pixels) with , Digital Zoom. It has got Internal Memory 8 GB Storage with 1 GB RAM and 1 GB ROM.

We have explained all required steps in detail:
Step 1: To ensure that you do not lose anything, please create backup of SMS, Contacts, APN settings, Whatapp chat messages etc. [ Alternative link to backup SMS, MMS, Contacts, Calendar, events on Samsung Android Phones]
Step 2: Please ensure that you have a desired battery level to perform the procedure [ we suggest minimum 60%]. While Installing custom ROM or Rooting your device it is required to enable USB debugging. You will find USB debug enable options in Settings>>Developer option. If you still do not get it check out our detailed tutorial about Enabling USB debugging and checking batter status /Usages.
Step 3: If you have already rooted your device and install CWM recovery and going to install a ROM then please backup your Firmware ROM using CWM recovery.
Step 4: We suggest a full backup of your apps and cache data, if you are rooted use Titanium Backup [ App backup and Restore tutorial] Or you can follow this tutorial to backup without root access.
Step 5: Please disable Antivirus, Firewall or other security apps before flashing Root, Firmware or Custom ROM as them may interrupt the procedure. We also suggest to disable Samsung Kies if you are flashing through PC.
Step 6: Please insure that you have correct driver and ADB installed on your System.
If you face any issues you can restore ROM using CWM recovery. After installing Backup you can restore all apps, SMS, Contacts and settings using the Tutorial provided on above mentioned links.
How to Root your Captivate Glide (Rogers/AT&T):

Requirement:
• Download Odin 1.85.
• Rooted Rom file for AT&T Captivate Glide — Link. Size: 292.78 MB.
• Rooted Rom file for Rogers Captivate Glide — Link. Size 290.30 MB.
• Cable driver for Samsung Capacitive Glide 32 bit (x86) Windows | 64-bit (x64) Windows
Procedure:
Step 1. Extract the above downloaded Rom file to your desktop.
Step 2. Power off your phone and wait for 5-10 seconds until phone vibrates a little bit to confirm complete power off.
Step 3. Now enter in download mode. How*- by pressing hold Volume Up key (keep holding it until you see options screen) and then press power key once. On the next screen, press Volume Up once to boot into download mode.flash
Step 4. Run Odin3 v1.85.exe from the extracted Odin file downloaded above.
Step 5. Connect your phone to the computer which is in download mode.
Step 6. You will see that Odin recognize your device — you will be able to see text — Added! ! — in message box bottom left.
Step 7. On Odin click on PDA tab and browse and select the extracted ROM file downloaded above.
Step 8. Be sure that the Re-Partition and Flash Lock boxes are unchecked.
Step 9. Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time should be checked.
Step 10. Leave everything else untouched.
Step 11. Hit the Start button on Odin.
Step 12. Flashing of the rooted rom file on your phone will begin.
Step 13. After it’s done will will be prompted as success with green background.
Step 14. If its fail repeate the whole process again.
Step 15. After successful flashing, phone will reboot automatically.
