How to root AT&T Galaxy S2 Skyrocket On Android 4.0 ICS : SamsungMobileClub

This procedure is pretty simple and you just need to flash kernel using Odin. The process with giver you root user access and Super user app install. Check the detailed step by step procedure to root AT&T Skyrocket below:

Pre requisites for rooting AT&T Galaxy S2 Skyrocket leaked Ice Cream Sandwich Firmware:

1. This procedure will wipe all your apps, data and settings. So backup all your data properly of Galaxy S2 Skyrocket. Use apps like Titanium backup, contact, SMS backup.

2. Uninstall all Kies suites and turn off antivirus and firewall. As they usually interrupt firmware update process.

3. Download Drivers of Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket.

4. Download the CWM package: Filename SkyrocketCWMrecovery.tar

5. Download Odin 1.85 from. Filename: Odin 1.85.zip | Size: 199 KB

6. Download the root package. Filename: Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip

Procedure how to Root and Install CWM Recovery on Galaxy S2 Skyrocket ICS Firmware:

Step1. First download all the file given above.

Step2. Now, extract the Odin 1.85.zip file to a folder in your desktop. Double-click the Odin3 v1.85.exe that you got after extracting the file Odin 1.85.zip.

Step3. Switch off the phone and restart in Download Mode. How*- holding the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons on the phone, plug in the USB cable to the phone while holding those buttons. When it is connected leave those buttons.

Step4. On Odin ID: Com selection box will turn yellow and a massage show “Added”. It means that all your drivers are properly installed and you are ready for next step.

Note: If Odin ID: COM section doesn’t notice anything then your drivers are not properly installed. First install it properly.

Step5. In Odin, click the PDA tab, and select the file SkyrocketCWMrecovery.tar which you have downloaded above. Do not make any other changes in Odin except selecting the required files Leave all other options as they are.

Step6. Now hit the START button to start flashing Clockworkmod recovery on your Galaxy S2 Skyrocket.

Step7. After flashing is complete, the phone will reboot,

Note: you will get a PASS message (with green background) in Odin. That means you can now safely disconnect your phone.

Step8. Transfer the Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip file to your internal SD card.

Step9. Now again turn off the phone so as to boot into recovery mode. How*- hold the Volume Up + Volume Down + Power buttons till the first white Samsung text shows up, then let them go. In recovery, use Volume buttons to navigate and the Power button to select.

Step10. Select install zip from sdcard, and then select choose zip from sdcard. Scroll to the Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip file on the sdcard and select it. Confirm installation by selecting yes – Install Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip on the next screen.

Step11. After the installation is complete, select go back then select reboot system now to reboot the phone.
