How To Install ICS Megamix ROM on T-Mobile Galaxy S2: Tutorial

New ICS Android 4.0 Custom Rom has been released for T-Mobile Galaxy S2 with having Cool 14 Toggles Mod. It is a cool mod that gives you 14 toggles in the notification bar. It is based on UCALC4 firmware port, XDA developer jim93 has come up with the ICS Megamix ROM. They have also removes some of the AT&T bloatware preloaded in the UCALC4 firmware. The ROM is based on a leaked firmware and is in the beta stage, so expect bugs and issues to be present in the ROM. Let’s check out the procedure.

Pre-Requisites:

2. Download the latest version of Megamix ROM

3. Download the DarkSide Super Wipe file.

4. T-Mobile Galaxy S2 T989 with ClockworkMod (CWM) recovery installed. Take help from hereHelp For Clockworkmod-recovery

5. Minimum battery charge required is 70%, that’s because you don’t have power problem during the process.

Procedure how to Install ICS Megamix ROM on T-Mobile Galaxy S2:

Step1. First transfer the above downloaded both file (ROM + Darkside wipe) into the internal SD card of your phone with the help of USB cable.

Step2. Turn off the device so as to enter in recovery mode. When screen turns on: press together Volume UP + Volume Down + Power. Phone will boot into CWM recovery. Use volume keys to scroll up and down between options and power/home key to select an option.

Step3. For your safety perform a Nandroid Backup of your existing ROM. To perform a backup, select Backup and Restore –> on the next screen, select Backup again. Restore your backup using the restore option when needed. Go back to main recovery menu after backup is complete.

Step4. Select wipe data/factory reset, then select Yes on next screen to confirm. Wait a while till the data wipe is complete. Select wipe cache then select Yes on next screen to confirm.

Step5. Now, Select install zip from sdcard, and then select choose zip from sdcard. Scroll to the DARKSIDE.SUPER.WIPE_EXT4.zip file on the sdcard and select it. Confirm installation by selecting Yes – Install DARKSIDE.SUPER.WIPE_EXT4.zip on the next screen.

Step6. After above step is completed, go back to the main recovery menu by selecting “go back”.

Step7. Now again wipe (Repeat Step 4).

Step8. Now select install zip from sdcard, then select choose zip from sdcard. Now this time Scroll to the ROM file on the sdcard and select it. Confirm installation by selecting “Yes” Rom will start installing.

Step9. Now again wipe (Repeat Step 4).

That’s it after the ROM installation is complete, select go back then select reboot system now to reboot the phone. After the phone boots up, complete the basic setup like adding your Google account, etc., then reboot the phone. You will see ICS Megamix 4.0.3 ROM running on T-Mobile Galaxy S2.
